To create a unique affect for the bespoke blue watch-face dials, Volvo used 4 independent boards placed overhead to give a spot light effect. There is no traditional backlighting for the numbers. However these LEDs are rather dim and have dark spots where it may be difficult to read some numbers. They also struggle to provide adequate lighting at dusk or matching brightness levels of the other interior panels.
These new LEDs have a color temperature that matches the factory setup and have an excellent color render index (90+). Care had been taken to make sure minimum . No modifications are required in order to run them. They slot and plug in exactly where the old ones go. Inquire about custom setups.
